VegasX documentation

1. Introduction

VegasX is a premium WordPress theme for iGaming review and affiliate sites — not a real-money gambling engine. It never processes bets or player wallets.

Use it to publish casino reviews, bonus offers, slot guides, provider profiles, and sports odds boards. Buyers configure the look in the Customizer and the copy/data in the top-level VegasX admin menu.

Fastest path from zip upload to a working demo front end.

1. Install & activate

   Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme → upload vegasx.zip → Activate.

2. Import demo

   VegasX → Dashboard → Import demo content (1 click).

3. Save permalinks

   Settings → Permalinks → choose Post name → Save Changes.

4. Preview & brand

   Open the front end, then Appearance → Customize for logo, colors, hero CTAs, and age badge.

5. Replace demo links

   Swap casino / bonus affiliate URLs and footer disclaimer text before going live (see go-live checklist).

3. Requirements

Confirm hosting meets these numbers before you upload the theme zip.

4. Installation

A) Via WordPress admin (recommended)

1. Log in to wp-admin.
2. Go to Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme.
3. Choose vegasx.zip (theme package only — not the documentation zip).
4. Click Install, then Activate.

B) Via FTP / SFTP

1. Unzip vegasx.zip.
2. Upload the folder vegasx into /wp-content/themes/.
3. Activate under Appearance → Themes.

5. First login checklist

Do these steps in order right after you activate VegasX.

1. Open the VegasX hub

   In wp-admin, open the top-level menu VegasX → Dashboard.

2. Import demo (or start clean)

   Click Import demo content (1 click) for a full sample site, or Create essential pages if you prefer an empty CPT library.

3. Save permalinks

   Go to Settings → Permalinks, choose Post name, then Save Changes — even if it already looks selected.

4. Confirm Reading settings

   Front page should be Home, Posts page News & blog (demo sets this automatically).

5. Brand the site

   Open Appearance → Customize: upload logo, set brand colors, edit hero CTAs and age badge.

6. Swap affiliate URLs

   Replace demo tracking links on casinos and bonuses with your own affiliate / play URLs.

7. Localize disclaimers

   Edit footer affiliate disclaimer and responsible-gambling text for your market and language.

6. Demo import & reset

Available to Administrators only (manage_options).

7. Permalinks (important)

Pretty URLs are required for CPT archives. Always re-save after install, demo, or theme update.

1. Go to Settings → Permalinks.
2. Select Post name.
3. Click Save Changes (even if already selected).

8. Homepage & News page

1. Go to Settings → Reading.
2. Choose A static page.
3. Homepage: select Home.
4. Posts page: select News & blog (or your news page).
5. Save.

The Home page uses the theme front-page layout (hero, rankings, bonuses, slots, sports…). The Posts page is your news/guides archive.

9. Logo & menus

Logo

1. Appearance → Customize → Site Identity.
2. Upload Logo (about 240×60, transparent PNG works best).
3. If no logo is set, the Customizer “Text logo fallback” is used.

Menus — where to click

1. Go to Appearance → Menus (or Customize → Menus).
2. Create a menu, add pages + CPT archives (Casinos, Bonuses, Slots…).

Work panel by panel. Changes preview live on the right. Click Publish when you are happy.

Brand Colors

• Primary (CTA) — main pink/action buttons
• Secondary (accent) — cyan accents
• Tertiary (highlight) — lime highlights
• Violet — extra accent

Header & Ticker

• Enable sticky header / Show live winners ticker
• Top bar text, Age badge (e.g. 18+)
• Text logo fallback if no image logo
• Header login label + URL → your Log in page
• Header CTA label + URL → Sign up or Top Casinos
• Ticker badge / “just won” / “on” phrases + winners list text

Hero

• Show hero / decorative artwork
• Eyebrow, title (HTML allowed for accent span), supporting text
• Primary & secondary button labels + URLs
• Trust badges 1–3
• Stats: Casinos / Bonuses / Slots numbers + labels
• Jackpot label, LIVE badge, subtitle (amount is under Jackpot section)

Jackpot counter

• Starting amount — number shown at load
• Increment per 100ms — animation speed
• Currency symbol — e.g. $

Footer

• Footer columns (1–4), copyright, affiliate disclaimer
• Responsible gambling text + up to 4 help badges (label + URL)
• Social URLs: X, Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, YouTube

Homepage sections

For each block (toplist, bonuses, why, slots, sports, providers, blog, newsletter):

• Show / hide section
• Badge, title, subtitle, link label, optional link URL
• Number of items
• Display order (controls section stacking)

Optional: Show content from the Home page editor if you want classic page content on the front page.

Why VegasX

Newsletter CTA

• Title, text, placeholder, button, legal line
• Form action URL — paste your ESP form endpoint (Mailchimp, etc.). Without it the form is visual/demo only.

12. VegasX admin menu map

After activation, use the left admin menu VegasX. It groups WordPress screens and theme settings in one hub.

13. Archive / listing page settings

These screens change the copy and labels of archive pages — not the posts themselves. Open them from the VegasX menu (e.g. Casinos → Casino Page).

News Page Settings

• Hero eyebrow / title / description
• Posts per page, post order
• Pagination & empty-state texts
• Sidebar panel titles (Latest, Topics, Top casinos…)
• Card / search labels

Casino Page Settings

• Hero texts, casinos per page, sort order
• Table column labels (Rank, Logo, Casino, Bonus, Visit…)
• Review link, Copy button, Exclusive badge, CTA fallback
• Rotating offer labels 1–5

Bonus / Slot / Provider / Sports Page Settings

• Hero + items per page + order
• Toolbar / filter / card labels
• Empty states (Slots also has infinite-scroll messages)
• Sports: bet slip texts, board filters, responsible gambling sidebar copy

Live Casino Page Settings

• Hero, trust strip stats
• Ranked casinos / lobby / method cards / providers block labels

14. Feature page settings (fill these)

Fill the matching settings screen, then assign the page template on the WordPress page itself.

About Page Settings

• Hero — kicker, title, accent, intro text
• Sections — add Mission / Accordion blocks with items
• Bottom CTA — title, text, button labels

Then open the About page and assign template About Us (Pages → Edit → Template).

Contact Page Settings

• Hero texts
• Email, phone, office hours, address, map embed URL
• Social links
• Form topics list + form labels / placeholders / success & error messages
• Bottom CTA

FAQ / How We Rate / Responsible Gambling / Privacy

• Hero fields
• Topics / sections with Q&A items (add rows in admin)
• Bottom CTA buttons

Assign templates: FAQ or Info Page as appropriate.

Casino Compare Settings

15. Login / Sign up / Forgot password

1. Open VegasX → Auth → Login / Sign up / Forgot Password settings and edit left-panel copy + form labels.
2. Edit the matching Pages and set templates: VegasX — Log in, VegasX — Sign up, VegasX — Forgot password.
3. In Customizer → Header, point Login URL and CTA URL to those pages.
4. For Sign up to work: Settings → General → Anyone can register (checked).

16. Recommended content order

Create related items in this order so dropdowns and cards are never empty.

1. Providers — studios that slots will link to.
2. Casinos — reviews with affiliate URLs and ratings.
3. Bonuses — link each offer to a casino.
4. Slots — assign a provider; add RTP / volatility.
5. Sports events & Live lobby games — optional boards.
6. News posts — guides and updates for the blog block.

17. How to add a casino (step by step)

1. Go to VegasX → Casinos → Add New Casino.
2. Enter the Title (casino name).
3. Write the long review in the editor.
4. Open the Casino Details box and fill:

5. Assign Categories / Tags / Payments / Licenses in the sidebar taxonomies.
6. Optional: in Homepage Display, check Show on homepage and set order (1 = first).
7. Click Publish.

18. How to add a bonus

1. VegasX → Bonuses → Add New Bonus.
2. Title = offer name. Fill Bonus Details:

• Bonus image
• Linked casino — select the casino post
• Bonus amount, Free spins, Wagering, Min deposit, Bonus code, Valid for
• Bonus affiliate URL — claim / tracking link
• Exclusive checkbox if needed

Assign a Bonus Type (Welcome, Free spins, Cashback…). Publish. Optionally enable Homepage Display.

19. How to add a slot

1. VegasX → Slots → Add New Slot.
2. Fill Slot Details:

• Slot image
• Provider — required; create Providers first if empty
• RTP %, Volatility (Low / Medium / High)
• Reels × Rows, Paylines / Ways, Max win
• Editor rating, Demo URL (iframe-friendly URL if you embed demos)

Publish → optionally Homepage Display.

20. How to add a provider

1. VegasX → Providers → Add New Provider.
2. Title = studio name.
3. Editor = long overview; Excerpt = short line for cards.
4. Provider Details → upload Provider logo.
5. Publish.

21. How to add a sports event

1. VegasX → Sports Odds → Add New Event.
2. Fill Event Details: Team/Player 1 & 2, date/time, league, odds (1 / Draw / 2), bet affiliate URL, team logos.
3. Assign a Sport taxonomy term.
4. Publish (+ Homepage Display if needed).

22. How to add a live lobby game

1. VegasX → Live Casino → Add Lobby Game.
2. Title + Lobby Game Details: game image, short description, tables count badge.
3. These feed the Live Casino page lobby section (not a public archive).
4. Assign the Live Casino template to your Live Casino page and fill Live Casino page settings.

23. How to add a news article

1. VegasX → Posts → Add New Post (or Posts → Add New).
2. Write content, set featured image, categories/tags.
3. Optional Article Details: view count, show views on site, key takeaways (one bullet per line).
4. Optional Homepage Display for the homepage blog block.

Confirm Settings → Reading uses your News page as the Posts page so articles appear in the news archive.

24. Show items on the homepage

Two layers control the homepage:

1. Customizer → Homepage sections — show/hide blocks, titles, item counts, order.
2. Homepage Display meta box on each casino/bonus/slot/provider/event/post — pick which items appear and their order.

25. Page templates — how to assign

1. Go to Pages → All Pages → Edit a page.
2. Find Template (Page attributes / sidebar).
3. Choose a template → Update.
4. Fill matching settings under VegasX → Features / Auth.

Paste into a page or post using a Shortcode block (or the Classic editor).

27. Affiliate links — where to put them

Also keep a clear affiliate disclosure in Customizer → Footer → Affiliate disclaimer.

28. Contact form (production)

1. Fill VegasX → Features → Contact Page texts.
2. Assign template Contact to your Contact page.
3. For real email delivery, install a form plugin or add this in a child theme / custom plugin:

29. Newsletter block

1. Customize → Newsletter CTA — edit copy.
2. Paste your mailing-list Form action URL.
3. Without an action URL the block is display-only.

30. Before you go live

Final QA checklist before pointing DNS or opening traffic.

• All demo affiliate / play URLs replaced with your tracking links
• Age badge, footer disclaimer, and RG help links match your market
• Logo, favicon, and Site Title / Tagline set in Site Identity
• Primary + Footer menus link to real pages (Privacy, Contact, RG)
• Homepage sections show the casinos/bonuses you intend (Homepage Display)
• Contact and newsletter wired for production (plugin / filter / ESP action URL)
• Permalinks saved; sample archive URLs return 200

31. SEO & schema

• Use Rank Math, Yoast, or SEOPress for titles/meta in production.
• Theme JSON-LD is off by default to avoid duplicates.
• Enable theme schema only if you intentionally need it:

• Translate with Loco Translate or Poedit
• RTL: style-rtl.css loads automatically for RTL languages

Activate the child theme under Appearance → Themes.

34. Updating the theme

1. Backup files + database.
2. Upload/replace the vegasx theme folder (or new zip).
3. Load the site once (migrations run automatically).
4. Re-save Permalinks if any archive 404s.

Posts, pages, menus and Customizer settings stay in the database. Prefer a child theme for custom CSS/PHP so updates do not overwrite your changes.
